9 Easy Recipes to Make with a Microwave Egg Poacher

It's estimated that on any given day roughly 20% of the U.S. population reports
eating eggs. Besides being affordable and delicious, one reason eggs are so
popular is because of their versatility. There are so many ways to cook an egg,
from frying to hard-boiling.

However, one particularly delicious application is a poached egg. Sadly, many
home chefs are often intimidated by the process of poaching an egg. The
solution? A microwave egg poacher from DoubleWave.

This product makes poached eggs as simple as pressing a few buttons on the
microwave. In this guide, we'll be discussing nine easy recipes with eggs you can
make using this microwave grill.

1. Eggs Benedict

Steakhouse in the 1800s.

The Benedicts asked for a special order which quickly became an off-the-menu
item. To make the dish all you need to do is fry up some Canadian bacon, toast
an English muffin, poach some eggs using your microwave egg poacher, then
whip up some Hollandaise sauce.

We recommend preparing the Hollandaise using a pre-made packet for ease. If
you want to make Hollandaise from scratch, just keep in mind that it will require a
lot of whisking and the sauce might break.

2. Carbonara With Poached Eggs

This recipe prepares carbonara the traditional way. Guanciale (or bacon if you
can't find it) is fried up. Then, you temper some eggs and parmesan cheese.
You add it, along with your pasta of choice, to the rendered bacon mixture. The
only difference is that this recipe tops it with a poached egg for another burst of
yolky goodness.

3. Rice With Poached Eggs

Seasoned rice topped with poached egg is a delicious and cheap dinner for any
household. Start by sauteing some onions and garlic in a Dutch oven. Then, add
some seasonings you like. Coriander, cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, and cloves are
a great combination.

Add some chilis if you want a little extra heat. Then, coat the rice with the spices
and add some water to cover it.

Throw it in the oven at 350 until the rice is cooked through. Then, top the whole
thing with a delicious poached egg. Alternatively, if it's a busy night you can speed
things up by cooking the rice in a microwave.

4. Avocado Smash

As simple as it is delicious. Best of all you can make it in less than five minutes.
To get started you take an avocado and separate it from the flesh. Then, you
smash it along with some salt, vinegar, and a little lime juice.
From there, you spread this delicious mixture on a piece of toast and top it with a
poached egg.

5. Vegetable Fritters

The best part about vegetable fritters is you can truly use whatever vegetables
are in your fridge. We like to take zucchini, carrots, green onions, and peas, and
then combine them in a food processor.

Wring out any excess moisture, then combine some flour, breadcrumbs, feta
cheese, and one egg. Once you give a paste, fry the fritters in some olive oil. Top
with a poached egg for a delicious breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

6. Turkish Eggs

Turkish eggs are another classic application of poached eggs. To start, get some
whole-milk yogurt and combine it with some chopped green onions and cilantro.
Then, melt some butter in a pan and combine it with chili crisps and thinly sliced
garlic.

To serve, spoon out the yogurt mixture into a bowl. Top it with a poached egg
from the microwave grill. Then pour over the butter-chili-garlic mixture for a
delicious protein-fueled breakfast.

7. Caesar Salad

Caesar salad dressing already has egg in it, so topping your salad with a
poached egg is a bit of a no-brainer. Either purchase croutons, or make some at
home by cutting up a baguette and toasting it with butter and seasoning. Next,
chop up some romaine lettuce.

Shave some parmesan over it, sprinkle it with croutons, and cover it in Caesar
salad dressing. Top it with a freshly poached egg and enjoy.

8. Lentil Salad With Poached Eggs

This lentil salad is an easy weeknight dish. To make things easy, get a pack of
microwaveable lentils and prepare them. While they heat up, fry up some leeks
and red onion.

Combine everything, along with some lemon juice, mustard, parsley, and fresh
tomatoes. Then top it with a poached egg.

9. Baked Beans and Poached Eggs

The smokey flavor in these baked beans compliments the poached egg perfectly.
Start by sauteing some onion and garlic. Then, add some bacon and render out
the fat.

Mix in some smoked paprika and tomato paste and cook until fragrant. Then, add
two cans of cannellini beans, along with some maple syrup, Worcestershire
sauce, and a bit of water to cover.

Bring to a boil, then simmer until the beans are cooked through, around thirty
minutes. Top it with a microwaved poached egg.
