How to Use a Sandwich Grill Press for the Best Paninis and Grilled Sandwiches?
Put your sandwich press grill in your microwave and let it preheat to around 375°F (or the medium-high setting if your press has adjustable temperatures). Preheating ensures even cooking and gives your sandwich a deliciously crispy crust.
Choose your favorite bread, cheese, and fillings. Arrange them in layers to make sure even melting and heating. Spread a light coating of butter or oil on the outer sides of the bread for a golden-brown finish, or skip this step for a lower-fat option. The flat sandwich press will still deliver a nice crunch even without added fats.
Place the assembled sandwich on the press. Avoid over-stuffing thicker sandwiches, as this may prevent even cooking. Tighten the silicone handle on both sides. The steady pressure keeps the ingredients neatly packed.
Cook the sandwich for 3-5 minutes at 375°F. For most paninis and grilled sandwiches, this temperature and cooking time work well. Thicker sandwiches may need an extra minute or two, so check halfway through if unsure.
Carefully lift the lid to check the sandwich after 3 minutes. Look for a golden-brown crust and melted cheese. If it needs more time, close the lid and let it cook for another minute or so until it reaches the desired crispiness.
