This is my third salad spinner. The first one lasted I am guessing over 10 years. The second one less than one year which left me needing a replacement. The spinning lid part has been the part that tore up both times in the past. This salad spinner is more lightweight than my previous ones mainly because it is smaller.
My last one was 5.28 qt. There are only two of so this is an appropriate size and is easier to store. The thing I like best about this spinner compared to my other ones is that even though it is smaller (mainly shorter) it is wider on the bottom of the basket. This allows for a larger romaine leaf to fit in without breaking or bruising it. I wash the whole bunch of romaine, spin it to dry (it take a few batches to do) and then store it in my produce saver.
As long as I make sure to spin the leaves very dry I can store it ready to eat before it turns bad. This is such a help to have already washed and dried lettuce. My husband also likes to add a leaf to his sandwich he eats for lunch and again it is so nice to already have the lettuce clean and dry.I do think the basket is just a bit lightweight but it does seem to be functioning adequately. The feet on the bottom keep the spinner from slipping all over the countertop. This spinner has the drains on the lid that you can easily pour the water from without having to unlock the lid. This lid is the easiest lid to lock on that I have ever had. It opens by just pulling the gray part out a bit and that is all you have to do-so easy. The raised up knob is also a new feature for me and I like that because it gives more room for my fingers. I am enjoying using this new salad spinner.

This is a very pretty salad spinner! We like to wash our romaine lettuce before we chop it up and thought a salad spinner would help with getting the excess water off. We also like to rinse our fruit in the salad spinner. I love the locking lid, which can be locked and opened very smoothly just by pulling the grey piece on top. There's also slots in the lid for draining and the handle is a nice size to grip for spinning. On the inside of the lid, there's a plastic piece that "locks" into your bowl, to allow the inner basket to spin. You can toss all off the pieces into the dishwasher for cleaning. This is not a huge size, more like a medium size bowl. My only concern is the inner basket seems a little flimsy, it bends easily.

My wife and I have had a large salad spinner for a while now. It's great for when we have company over to eat, but for just her and I it's just overkill: it's way too large for meals destined for just one or two people. We saw this Salad Spinner on Amazon and it seemed to be smaller than the one we currently have, so we took the plunge and I ordered it to try it out.
As soon as the package arrived I could see that we made the right choice, as it is the PERFECT size for salad for two (we eat a lot of salad!). And even if just one of us wants to have a salad it's not too big for one either. For those who have never used a salad spinner, they are really nice kitchen gadgets that make it super-easy to wash lettuce, or any other cut veggies for that matter. We've never tried it on fruits such as berries, but I'm guessing it would work well on them as well.
The idea is that the food items are placed in the inner basket, thoroughly rinsed under running water, then lightly shaken to remove SOME of the water. Then the inner basket is placed in the outer bowl, the lid with the crank is placed on the bowl, then the crank is turned until most of the remaining water has been flung off the food via the centrifugal action of the spinning bowl. There is a spout in front of the crank that allows draining the water with the lid on (in case it's desired to give the food items a few more cranks to see if any other water is expelled)
The spinner is at least as well built as our prior spinner, which is a good thing as that one has lasted for a few years already and is still going strong despite frequent usage. I'm expecting the to also have a good long life. The outer bowl is a crystal-clear plastic and has rubber feet at the bottom so the spinner is kept in place somewhat and doesn't fight us as we're turning the crank. I really like the lid on this one as it locks in place on the rim of the outer bowl so the user doesn't have to be careful to hold it in place while cranking. We used it for the first time the day it arrived at our home, and we've been using it ever since. It really works great!

I make a lot of salads. Why did I wait so long to order this?! It's exactly what I needed. You can use any veggies that you wash and rinse. There is a smooth spin to allow all the water to be removed so you can start making your salad. It leaves veggies fresh, clean and crisp.

Pros:- Durable plastic bowl with rubber stoppers underneath- spinning part underneath the lid comes off for thorough and easy cleaning of the lid- handle and easy lock make it quick and easy to get the lid off and spin the contents. Other spinners have these locks that you have to tussle with to get the lid on and off.
This lock is just a simple slide to the side and it lifts- you can drain the water without having to take the lid off- beautiful colors and look, it's also not too hard stow away and should fit in standard cabinets just fineCons:I can't find any! I love this product! I highly recommend!

This salad spinner has been a great help in the kitchen. The basket holds a decent amount of lettuce, while the base has secure gripping feet to keep it in place. The lid easily attaches to the top of the bowl and locks in place on one side. The spinner gearing spins it very fast, but you'll need to use your hand to hold it down when really cranking on it. The lid drainage holes make emptying the water easy, as well as cleanup. The bowl and the unit itself is built solid, so if you want something that should last a while, I think this would.
